Hedreich
Nichols
Helping people and organizations communicate, teach, and connect with greater clarity, perspective, and humanity.
Born in a “Negro hospital” and raised in a multi-generational home, Hedreich knows first-hand what it’s like when “norm” means “not like me.”
Her work spans professional learning, strategic communications, AI and edtech integration, and perspective-centered approaches to teaching, leadership, and organizational growth. Whether supporting educators, leaders, or mission-driven organizations, Hedreich helps people navigate change, strengthen communication, and create more engaging learning experiences.
An award-winning author, Hedreich is best known for Finding Your Blind Spots: 8 Guiding Principles for Overcoming Implicit Bias in Teaching (Solution Tree), where she blends lived experience, educational expertise, and research to help educators better understand the stories, assumptions, and perspectives that shape learning. She is also the author of five supplementary readers for grades 4–8 through Cherry Lake Publishing.
Her writing has appeared in publications including Edutopia and Cult of Pedagogy, where she explores practical, research-informed approaches to learning, communication, educational innovation, and perspective in the classroom and beyond.
Before her work in education and communications, Hedreich had a successful career in music education and performance, earning a Grammy nomination as a singer and contributing arrangements to a double-platinum recording. Those experiences continue to shape the way she thinks about audience, storytelling, emotion, and human connection.
Hedreich holds a Master of Education in Educational Technology from Texas A&M University.
